Antioch police officers are investigating a robbery and shooting that resulted in one person injured, according to a department press release.
Officers responded to a call in Gentrytown Park at 2800 Carmona Way on Monday around 12:43 p.m. of a person shot during a robbery.
Police said that two suspects approached a victim in the park and demanded their belongings. The victim and the suspects then struggled for some time. One of the suspects took out a handgun and shot the victim several times. After taking the victim’s property, both suspects fled the scene.
When officers arrived, they provided medical aid until Contra Costa Fire arrived. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing. No one has been arrested in this case.
