Disneyland survey asks: When will passholders feel safe to return?

Disneyland has begun surveying annual passholders about when they will feel comfortable and safe to return to the Anaheim theme park after an extended coronavirus closure.

Passholders were asked a series of survey questions about how comfortable they would feel returning to Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott’s Berry Farm, SeaWorld San Diego and Legoland California, according to MiceChat.

Disney’s two Anaheim theme parks, three hotels and outdoor shopping mall remain closed until further notice amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Disneyland and other California theme parks can reopen during Stage 3 of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s four-stage road map for reopening the state’s economy. A firm date has not been established for when California theme parks can reopen.

The Disneyland survey asked for feedback on how likely passholders would be to visit the Anaheim parks if certain health and safety measures were implemented. One question focused on how comfortable passholders would be to visit Disneyland on reopening day and in the months after the park reopened. Similar questions asked for feedback on how soon they would visit Universal, Knott’s, SeaWorld and Legoland after those parks reopened.

MIceChat, a Disney fan website, recreated several of Disneyland’s COVID-19 survey questions and polled 6,200 readers on their responses.

A little more than a third — 35.5% — of MiceChat readers would be comfortable visiting Disneyland on reopening day, according to the online survey. The results were much lower for Universal Studios Hollywood (13%), Knott’s Berry Farm (12%), SeaWorld San Diego (7.5%) and Legoland California (7%).
