Man Utd make €120m bid for Bundesliga striker; Chelsea will ‘outbid’ rivals to sign the Leeds star

Man Utd ‘preparing a big bid’ for a 16-goal Bundesliga striker while Chelsea have ‘entered the race’ for one of Leeds United’s best players…

MAN UTD ‘PREPARES BIG OFFER’ FOR STRIKER
The Red Devils have been linked with several forwards of late, with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen regularly cited as their top targets.

But Christian Falk (caught offside) reports Man Utd are set to make a ‘big offer’ for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Kolo Randal Muani.

The 24-year-old has been in stunning form this season. He has scored 16 goals and 14 assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances across all competitions.

Falk adds that United’s offer, which is said to be worth up to €120m, has to be accepted by Frankfurt. A ‘meeting’ between Muani’s agent and the club’s director took place ‘last week’ and it is said they must ‘consider’ a sale if a significant offer is made for the Frenchman.

Separate reports have revealed that Osimhen is indeed Man Utd’s preferred striker targetwhile Kane could be on the market if he doesn’t renew his contract at Tottenham.

Falk notes that “if Muani ends up joining United it will be good news for Bayern Munich as it means United are out of the Kane transfer poker”.

ETH ‘IN LINE’ FOR NEW CONTRACT
Erik ten Hag has Man Utd on the right track and has already ended their five-year trophy drought. While United’s ownership remains unclear, The mirror suggest Ten Hags ‘job will be secure whatever the process’.

The head coach “is on the verge of landing a new contract with Manchester United – regardless of who owns the club”. He only signed a three-year deal when he took over last summer but they seem ready to give the ex-Ajax manager more support.

While ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was negatively impacted by last year’s takeover, “feedback from Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group and Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation is that both bidders believe Ten Hag is the right manager to take over.” to bring back the glory days”.

The Glazer family are “currently locked in negotiations over a £6billion sale” but Man Utd have “told Ten Hag that they want to reward him for the progress he’s made during his short stint at the club”.

CHELSEA EYE £30M SWOOP FOR LEEDS MAN
Kepa Arrizabalaga has been picked over Edouard Mendy in recent months, with the Spaniard representing Chelsea in their last 13 Premier League games.

Accordingly The mirror, Mendy has now been “told he can leave Chelsea while Graham Potter prepares for squad selection”. The Senegalese international’s form has waned after helping the Blues win the Champions League in 2021.

As for his replacement football insider report that Chelsea are looking to sign Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

The Frenchman has been “highlighted as a potential target”, with Potter telling Chelsea board that “he would like to have a new goalkeeper in the summer”.

Leeds have offered Meslier “a price tag of over £30m” but Chelsea reckon he “could be one of the cheaper options on their shopping list” if their rivals are relegated.

The report notes Man Utd and Spurs have also been linked with Meslier, despite ‘Chelsea ready to outbid their rivals to secure his signature’
