William Byron has been the king of the NASCAR Cup Series, but Kevin Harvick has been a star in his career at Atlanta Motor Speedway, home of this week’s Ambetter Health 400 in 2023. Harvick leads all active drivers with three wins in the Cup series in Atlanta. including his 2001 debut in Dale Earnhardt’s car, two weeks after the legend’s death. Byron has won the last two races of the Cup Series and is the defending NASCAR champion at Atlanta. The last driver to win three consecutive Cup Series races was Kyle Larson in 2021.
Byron is the 9-1 favorite while Harvick is 20-1 in the latest NASCAR at Atlanta 2023 odds at Caesars Sportsbook. The green flag is scheduled to drop at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. Larson and Kyle Busch are rated 10-1, followed by Ross Chastain (11-1) and Joey Logano (11-1) on the NASCAR at Atlanta grid. You should check out NASCAR Atlanta predictions by Micah Roberts, the legendary Vegas bookie who pioneered racing betting, before picking Ambetter Health 400 for 2023.
Roberts, a former Vegas bookmaker, was the first to offer extended NASCAR betting and now hands out NASCAR winners to his followers on SportsLine.
Roberts is the nation’s leading NASCAR betting expert, and his top pick, Chase Elliott, won the YellaWood 500 last October by odds of 12-1. He also correctly predicted Elliott would win the Jockey Made in America 250 in 2021, pinned the 2021 Coca-Cola 600 winner by scoring Larson’s win at odds of 11-2, and was on point , by targeting Elliott as the winner of the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix, taking 8-5 chances the previous week. Those who followed his tips redeemed ticket for ticket.
Now Roberts has analyzed the field and odds for Sunday’s Atlanta 2023 NASCAR race. He shares his winner and predicted 2023 Ambetter Health 400 ranking right here.
2023 NASCAR in Atlanta expert predictions
One shocker: Roberts puts Kyle Larson in the shade despite being one of NASCAR Atlanta’s top picks. The 2021 Cup Series champion has not been a threat in his superspeedway career and Roberts doesn’t see that changing this week. In fact, Roberts barely ranks the 25-year-old among his top 20 drivers for the race. Larson finished last year’s spring race in 30th place and 13th in the fall. Larson finished in the top five twice in Atlanta before reappearing in 2021.
“This was a better track for him before the Superspeedway package was put together,” Roberts told SportsLine. The pundit also notes that Larson needs space to act and pack racing isn’t really up his alley. He finished 18th at Talladega and 37th at Daytona in the second half of last season. Larson has 19 cup wins, none of them on a superspeedway. See who else to fade here.
Another curveball: Roberts is high on Aric Almirola despite being a long shot at 30-1. Almirola has three career wins in the Cup Series and two of them at Superspeedways. The 39-year-old had a difficult start to the season, with bad luck and mechanical problems ending his last few appearances. But he thrives as an underdog, showing from 31st to 16th in the rally race before losing a wheel near halftime in Phoenix last week.
Almirola was 33rd but Roberts likes him this week when he’s not struggling. “He’s one of the best in superspeedway racing,” Roberts told SportsLine. See who else supports here.
