A woman walking in a crosswalk in North Hollywood was killed after being struck by two cars on Friday night, Jan. 24, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Around 9:30 p.m., police received a call to the 11700 block of West Victory Boulevard. While crossing the street in the crosswalk, a 26-year-old woman was struck by what was described as a sedan traveling westbound. The driver did not stop, LAPD spokesperson Norma Eisenman said.
“The initial collision caused the pedestrian to fall onto the roadway,” Eisenman said. “As the pedestrian was on her hands and knees on the roadway, a second vehicle struck her.”
The second vehicle was described as a light blue or gray 2003 Toyota 4Runner, which also failed to stop.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspects have been identified and no further details were available.
