Wind advisory affecting Los Angeles County beaches Sunday

Ventura County Beaches, Ventura County Inland Coast and Malibu are the focus of a wind advisory issued at 2:51 a.m. on Saturday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is valid for Sunday, Mar. 2 between noon and 9 p.m.

The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA said, “West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. Isolated gusts to 50 mph are possible at the beaches.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” according to the NWS. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
