At least one Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department deputy opened fire on a suspect Saturday in West Hollywood.
The shooting occurred at 5:57 p.m. at La Brea Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, near the West Hollywood Gateway shopping mall, Deputy Gabriela Robles of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau told City News Service.
The circumstances of the shooting and the status of the suspect were not immediately available. It was unclear what the person was suspected of doing, and there were no immediate reports of a weapon being recovered.
All the deputies were safe, Robles said.
Multiple streets in the area were closed for the shooting investigation.
