Southern Ventura County Mountains, Northern Ventura County Mountains, 5 Freeway corridor near Santa Clarita, Western San Gabriel Mountains/Highway 14 Corridor and Eastern San Gabriel Mountains are under an updated high wind warning which was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 1:03 p.m. The warning is valid from Thursday 6 a.m. until Friday 1 a.m.
The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA said, “Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.”
“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” the NWS said. “Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.”
