Universal’s Horror Nights calls the Ghostbusters to save the world from another Ice Age

Universal Studios Hollywood is gonna call the Ghostbusters to come to the rescue during Halloween Horror Nights when New York City is threatened by another Ice Age at the hands of a vengeful spirit determined to freeze everyone to death.

A new haunted maze based on “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” will be part of Halloween Horror Nights 2024 at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando.

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 will feature eight new haunted mazes along with several scare zones and the Terror Tram on select nights from Sept. 5 through Nov. 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The new haunted maze based on the latest Ghostbusters movie released in March will offer visitors a taste of the film franchise’s familiar blend of humor and horror.

The backstory for the maze finds an ancient artifact unleashing a vengeful spirit who threatens to turn everyone’s veins into rivers of ice.

Along the way, Horror Nights visitors will pass through a top secret research lab, an occult bookshop and New York City’s dank sewers — all while trying to escape an army of ghastly creatures bent on cracking bones.

The Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire haunted house is the second maze based on a major Hollywood franchise — joining the A Quiet Place maze in the 2024 Horror Nights lineup coming to Universal Studios Hollywood.

Horror Nights visitors will try to silently navigate the Quiet Place maze without making a noise or straying from the sand path survivors traveled in the films. Everyone entering the maze will receive the same warning: If they hear you, they will hunt you.

Universal’s Hollywood park will also feature two original themed mazes in 2024: Dead Exposure: Death Valley and Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America.

The Dead Exposure maze will take Horror Nights visitors into a secret military lab where a disastrous attempt to create a super soldier results in an army of radioactive zombies.

The Monstruos maze based on Latin American folklore will bring Horror Nights visitors face to face with the soul-stealing rider El Charro, devil dog El Cadejo and boogeyman El Cucuy.

The separate admission Horror Nights event is not included with daily admission to Universal Studios Hollywood. Universal is selling an Early Access Ticket that provides entrance to select haunted mazes 90 minutes before Horror Nights officially begins each night at 7 p.m. Horror Nights season passes, front-of-the-line passes and VIP tours are also available for the event.

The Florida version of Horror Nights begins on Aug. 30 with 10 haunted houses, five scare zones and live entertainment.
