Taco Bell’s nostalgic ‘Decades Menu’ will debut on Oct. 31

Taco Bell wants you to indulge in a Meximelt or a tostada before you fill up on Halloween candy on Thursday, Oct. 31.

The Irvine-based chain will be launching a limited-time “Decades Menu” on that date.

The value-priced menu, which the Irvine-based chain tested in its hometown in August, brings back five items from years past.

The first is the tostada, one of Taco Bell’s first six menu items when it opened in 1962 but discontinued in 2020. It will cost about $2.19. Prices vary by location.

Representing the 1970s is the Green Sauce Burrito, available for $2.49.

The Meximelt, from the 1980s, is a flour tortilla stuffed with beef, three cheeses and pico de gallo. It will go for $2.99.

The ’90s item is a Gordita Supreme, available for $2.99.

A fifth item on the menu, Caramel Apple Empanada, won’t be available until Nov. 21, more like Thanksgiving. It will sell for $2.99.

A $7 Luxe Cravings Box will include a Beef Gordita Supreme with a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Double Stacked Taco, chips and nacho cheese sauce and a medium drink.

The promotion includes collectible cups and reto merchandise, which will be included in a Tuesday Drop on Oct. 29. Tuesday Drops take place at 2 p.m. and give app users with quick fingers and quick wi-fi the chance to get “exclusive offers and experiences.”
