Street takeover in downtown LA leaves Metro bus vandalized

A Metro bus was vandalized with graffiti during a street takeover at Flower Street and Olympic Boulevard on Monday, July 1, in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.

Officers were sent to the intersection about 3 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Beyond a large number of vehicles involved in a street takeover, dispatchers received calls of fireworks being set off and possible gunshots.

At least 50 vehicles were involved in the takeover, according to the Los Angeles Times, which reported that investigators found no evidence of gunfire.

The windows of a Silver Line bus were covered in graffiti.

No injuries were reported, and no one was arrested, police said.

The incident followed another street takeover in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning that left two vehicles engulfed in flames.
