Small plane crashes in Van Nuys; no serious injuries

A small airplane with two people aboard crashed on Thursday, Nov. 14, near Van Nuys Airport, with neither occupant getting seriously hurt.

The crash was reported about 7:10 a.m. near the 15300 block of West Burbank Boulevard.

The plane was upside down, and a fire did not ignite, the Los Angeles Fire Department said, with the pilot and passenger getting out of the plane.

The man and woman were examined by first responders, and “neither appear to have life-threatening injuries,” LAFD said.

Both declined to be transported by paramedics for hospital treatment.

The crash will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
