Police are investigating the shooting of a 31-year-old man outside of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Van Nuys that left the victim in critical condition.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 10:21 p.m. Thursday to the 14100 block of Sherman Way at Hazeltine Avenue, where they learned the victim was outside the store when two men approached him and shot at him several times, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.

The suspects drove away from the scene and the victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel with gunshot wounds in critical but stable condition, police said.
