Secret Service agent robbed at gunpoint in Tustin

A U.S. Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint in a residential community in Tustin over the weekend, authorities said.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, the agent was at the Tustin Fields I residential community near Stratus Lane and Westwind Drive when he was was held up at gunpoint and had his bag stolen, according to the Tustin Police Department.

The agent fired at least one shot at the robber though it was not known if they were struck.

The robber fled and no arrests have been announced.  A few items belonging to the agent were recovered in the area. A vehicle described as 2004-2006 silver Infiniti FX35 was seen leaving area.

President Joe Biden was in Downtown L.A. over the weekend to take part in an event connected to his re-election campaign. It was not clear if the agent was assigned to the president’s detail.
