Need a ride to the Rose Parade? L.A. Metro will be increasing its services on New Year’s Day to accommodate parade goers.
The A line will be running overnight from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1 with extra trains added in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day to accommodate Rose Parade attendees. Several bus lines around the parade route including 180, 260, 261, 267, 487, 501, 660, 662 and Pasadena Transit Line 33, will be impacted by significant detours.

The closest A line rail stations to the start of the parade route are Del Mar and Memorial Park stations. Riders should expect about a quarter mile walk. Lake and Allen stations are about 0.4 miles north of the parade route.
L.A. Metro offers an online trip planner to help riders plan ahead.
L.A. Metro said it typically sees an increase in ridership on New Year’s Day. To meet the demand, A line trains increase from two to three cars and provide 10-minute service all day.
“If possible, we recommend riders use the A Line rail service on Jan. 1, as the parade impacts to bus lines are significant,” L.A. Metro said in a statement. “For those who do plan to ride buses to the parade, we highly recommend allowing extra travel time to avoid any inconvenience.”
Metro stations offer parking which can be paid for by adding a TAP card to their phone wallet or using the TAP app and/or parking app.
Every rider needs their own TAP card but children under the age of 6 can ride for free with a paying adult. Student with GoPass can use it for getting to the parade, according to Metro.
