Putt around this 18-hole mini golf course with these famous Pixar characters

Some of Pixar’s biggest stars are hitting the mini links in Long Beach and you can join them for a round of 18-hole golf in real life.

Pixar Putt, a whimsical pop-up mini golf course featuring Pixar characters from several movies, opens Saturday, Sept. 21 and runs through Jan. 15 at the 2nd & PCH shopping center in Long Beach. The 9,000-square-foot course is made up of 18 interactive holes, each inspired by the stories and characters from movies such as “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc,” “Ratatouille,” “Finding Nemo,” “Coco,” and others.

“In each hole you can immerse yourself in that particular story,” said Sydney Steele, CEO of Junto Entertainment, the company behind the traveling pop-up mini golf course which last made an appearance at this year’s D23 Expo.

“It’s such a fun activity that anyone from all ages can enjoy. It’s not just your average mini golf, it’s themed and you can connect with some of these iconic moments from the films that we grew up with and love,” she said.

People can expect to golf through oversize propsm including having to putt around a huge rolling pin at the “Ratatouille”-inspired hole that’s part of a kitchen scene that includes gigantic utensils, a milk carton and probably the largest chunk of cheese you’ve ever seen. In the “Bug’s Life” hole golfers will have to maneuver through giant leaves and buttons that make you feel like you’re a tiny bug.

One of Steele’s favorite spots on the mini-golf course is the hole inspired by “Coco,” where players will putt from the neck of an oversize guitar, sending the ball rolling down the neck of the instrument before attempting to then putt it over the film’s iconic bridge.

Steele said the course is aimed at golfers of all ages and includes a Pixar Putt After Dark for players who are 18 years of age and older on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. There will also be special events planned for the future including a Halloween costume contest and food drive and toy drives.
