Panorama City welcomes new 180-unit affordable housing project

An affordable housing development opened its doors in Panorama City on Saturday, Feb. 8.

Local officials and community members gathered to celebrate the launch of Corazon Del Valle – which translates to “Heart of the Valley” – a project that adds 180 affordable housing units to the neighborhood and provides homes for nearly 400 residents.

Half of the apartments have been set aside as permanent supportive housing for renters who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, or a history of homelessness, according to Holos Communities, a North Hollywood-based developer.

Corazon Del Valle is intended for residents earning $12,400 or less annually, and families who earn no more than $70,000 annually.

The project includes a community clinic operated by the San Fernando Community Health Center, which will provide medical services to tenants and the broader Panorama City community.

Located at 14545 Lanark Street, the development is strategically positioned near an incoming Metro line, offering future residents improved access to public transit.

The ribbon-cutting featured speeches from officials including Los Angeles County Third District Supervisor Lindsay Horvath; Los Angeles Councilmember Imelda Padilla; Assemblymember Celeste Rodriguez; Director of California Department of Housing & Community Development Gustavo Velasquez, Cynthia Becerra, field representative for Congressmember Luz Rivas; and San Fernando Community Health Center CEO Audrey Simmons.
