No serious injuries after LAPD helicopter crashes at Los Alamitos base

LOS ALAMITOS — A Los Angeles Police Department helicopter crashed at a training base in Orange County on Tuesday, but neither of the two people aboard was seriously injured.

The crash was reported around 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Joint Forces Training Base in the 4000 block of Doolittle Avenue in Los Alamitos. According to the LAPD, an unspecified training issue required the helicopter to make an emergency landing, and the aircraft wound up on its side.

Two officers were on board but sustained no severe injuries. Neither was taken to a hospital.

An investigation into the crash was ongoing Tuesday.
