Inland Empire food halls provide unique dining in memorable settings

Food halls are typically a space that holds multiple food vendors as well as bar and other activities, reminiscent of a food court in a mall. They allow visitors to be able to mix and match their meal from the different eateries inside. They’re also convenient for group outings or dates when everyone in the party is in the mood for something different. Food halls also fall under the third space category, a place outside of the home and the office where people can connect with one another.

Some of the oldest food halls in the country include Reading Terminal Market which opened in Philadelphia in 1893, Pike’s Place which opened in Seattle in 1907, and LA’s very own Grand Central Market which opened in Downtown LA in 1917. Some more recently opened food halls in Southern California include Mercado González which opened in 2023 and Redlands Public Market which had its soft opening at the end of February.

We’ve broken down the best food halls and organized them by region, Orange County, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. Each guide also includes recommendations of restaurants to visit inside each of the food halls. We also have a map below that makes it convenient to find where each food hall is located in Southern California.
