A man was shot and killed on a residential street in Sunland on Sunday night, Feb. 2, and Los Angeles police were searching for two suspects accused of firing shots at him, authorities said.
The victim was walking in the 7800 block of Denivell Road, near Mt. Gleason Avenue, when two vehicles pulled up about 11:30 p.m., Los Angeles police spokesman Officer Drake Madison said.
The two suspects got out of the vehicles and both shot at the victim. The suspects returned to their vehicles and drove away, Madison said.
It was not known if the shooting was gang-related, Madison said.
One suspect, a 39-year-old man, reportedly turned himself in to police and told officers the victim was the boyfriend of his ex-wife, an officer at the department’s Operations Center told City News Service.
Madison, when asked, could not confirm that account as of Monday morning.
The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
