Los Angeles Choreographers and Dancers brings new show to Culver City’s Ivy Substation

Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers, led by Creative Director Louise Reichlin, presents “HEART” at The Ivy Substation in Culver City on July 12-14.

The premiere includes a full lineup of dance and multimedia works such as “Metro Transformation,” “Gotta Get Up!,” and six reimagined dances from the critically acclaimed “Urban and Tribal Dances” series, which consisted of six different numbers that premiered in 1990. The dances reveal a communal and tribal theme that highlights urban life.

The ensemble features performers Alana Astor, Jill Elaine Collins, Julie Hackett, Alice Lousen, Eve Metsäranta, Mcknnly Moren, Yaya Ruiz, and Kohl Lewis, with choreography by Louise Reichlin, Jill Elaine Collins, and Mcknnly Moren. Visual artists Feliz McInnis and Audri Phillips contribute to the multimedia experience.

Opening night will occur at 7 p.m. on July 12, and daytime performances are slated for 2 p.m. on July 13-14. Tickets start at $25 at Eventbrite.com. Parking is available free on the street after 6 p.m. or at nearby lots, with the first hour free. The Ivy Substation is located at  9070 Venice Blvd, Culver City.

The show is designed to inspire and broaden the perspectives of its diverse audience. This series of performances is supported by the City of Culver City, Sony Pictures Entertainment, the California Arts Council, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture.
