L.A. Daily News boys basketball Top 10 rankings, Feb. 3

This week’s Daily News boys basketball Top 10 rankings.

BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 10

(Records through Sunday, Feb. 2)

1. Harvard-Westlake (25-1)

The Wolverines concluded their regular season with a 59-52 win against St. Francis on Saturday at the Intuit Dome. Harvard-Westlake will face the winner of Crespi and Alemany in the semifinals of the Mission League tournament on Tuesday. The No. 1 seed in the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs is in clear sight.

2. Sierra Canyon (20-4)

The Trailblazers pride themselves on defense, and it was on full display Saturday night in their 63-54 win over Notre Dame. If their shots are falling, the Trailblazers will be a tough out for any team in the state. Sierra Canyon will host the winner of Notre Dame and Chaminade on Tuesday in the Mission League tournament semis.

3. Notre Dame (20-5)

The Knights are loaded with talent but are clearly missing point guard Lino Mark’s impact on the court. Tyran Stokes has been doing his best to hold down the fort along with major contributions from Zach White, NaVorro Bowman and Josiah Nance. Notre Dame is eying a rematch with Sierra Canyon if it gets past Chaminade on Monday.

4. Heritage Christian (24-3)

The Warriors secured consecutive Olympic League titles with a 71-46 win over Maranatha on Friday. Heritage Christian can finish with an 8-0 league record if it closes out the regular season with a win against Village Christian on Tuesday. Depending on the number of teams that end up in the CIF-SS Open Division, Heritage Christian can sneak into the top postseason division.

5. Crespi (19-7)

The Celts got their bye in the Mission League tournament with a 53-38 win over Alemany at the Intuit Dome on Saturday. Crespi will have to hold Alemany back again in a rematch Monday night for a chance to play Harvard-Westlake in the semis.

6. Oaks Christian (21-5)

The Lions have been playing inspired ball over the last month, cruising through the Marmonte League with a 9-0 record. Oaks Christian has one last regular season test on the road against Westlake on Tuesday, with sole possession of the league crown on the line.

7. Campbell Hall (16-8)

No matter the competition, David Grace’s team always comes prepared to play, just like it did Saturday at the Intuit Dome. Campbell Hall pulled away late from Brentwood 70-67 behind Isaiah Johnson’s 39-point performance. The Vikings still have an outside chance of grabbing a share of the Gold Coast League title depending on the results this week. Campbell Hall needs to win both of its games — against Viewpoint on Monday and Windward on Wednesday — and needs Windward to defeat Brentwood on Monday.

8. Cleveland (18-4)

Kamari King hit a game-winning 3-pointer with five seconds left to give Cleveland a 57-54 win over Taft on Friday. Winners of 13 straight, the Cavaliers sit atop the West Valley League with five games left in the regular season and a rematch with Chatsworth on the docket next week. Cleveland will have to get through Birmingham twice, too.

9. Westlake (19-8)

The Warriors have won six in a row and have a chance to clinch a share of the Marmonte League title with a win over Oaks Christian on Tuesday. Senior Austin Maziasz recently broke the Westlake record for the most 3-point field goals made.

10. Saugus (18-9)

The Centurions are making a late-season push for a share of the Foothill League title with recent wins over West Ranch, Hart and Golden Valley. Junior guard Brayden Harmon scored 43 points against West Ranch and senior big man Max Guardado and senior point guard Bryce Mejia are averaging double-digit points over the last three games. Saugus closes the regular season against Castaic on Wednesday.
