PITCHING REPORT: Right-hander Kyle Hendricks pitched three scoreless innings after working two perfect innings in his first outing of the spring. Hendricks struck out three and did not walk a batter. … Closer Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect inning in his first outing of the spring. He struck out Seth Brown, the first hitter he faced, on three pitches. “It felt great to be out there,” Jansen said. … Right-hander Ben Joyce worked a scoreless inning in his spring debut. He gave up a single and struck out one. Joyce said he threw mostly four-seam fastballs, with a few sinkers or sliders. “It was a little mix of everything, but the main goal was to establish the four-seam,” Joyce said. … Left-hander José Suarez pitched two perfect innings, striking out one. … Right-hander Ryan Johnson worked the final two innings, allowing one hit. Johnson was just drafted last summer. … Angels pitchers did not walk anyone.
HITTING REPORT: Mickey Moniak hit a liner back to pitcher Osvaldo Bido. The ball stuck in Bido’s glove, even though the glove fell to the ground. Bido picked up the glove and threw the ball to first to get Moniak. Mike Trout, who was running at first, stopped halfway and was then retired at second for a double play. … Trout walked twice and was hit by a pitch. He has already drawn five walks in 11 plate appearances this spring. … Jo Adell reached on an infield single and hit a sacrifice fly. Adell is 2 for 5 in the last two games after starting 0 for 9. … Yolmer Sanchez stole home as part of a double steal in the fifth inning. … The Angels drew eight walks and had two batters hit by pitches.
DEFENSE REPORT: Third baseman Cole Fontenelle made a nice play charging a slow hopper. … Left fielder Bryce Teodosio made a diving catch to end the seventh inning, saving a run.
