High wind watch in place for Antelope Valley for Thursday

On Wednesday at 12:27 a.m. the National Weather Service released a high wind watch valid for Thursday, Mar. 13 between midnight and 6 a.m. for Antelope Valley.

The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA said, “Southwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.”

“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” according to the NWS. “Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
