An Arizona grandmother who was seriously injured on a Harry Potter ride at Universal Studios Hollywood that left her suffering from debilitating back pain has won a multimillion-dollar jury verdict, according to court documents.
A California federal jury unanimously awarded $7.25 million to Pamela Morrison on Feb. 14 for injuries sustained on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey dark ride at the Hollywood theme park, according to court documents.

The jury awarded Morrison $5 million for future damages, $2 million for past damages and $250,000 for future medical expenses, according to court documents filed on Feb. 21.
The jury found that the ride was dangerous and Universal Studios Hollywood was responsible for the crushed spine that Morrison suffered in a fall when exiting Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in 2022, according to Law360.
Universal Studios Hollywood officials declined to comment.

Morrison testified during the trial that the fall from the Harry Potter ride left her suffering from debilitating back pain and that she could no longer do household chores, travel or experience amusement parks with her grandson, according to Law360.
Plaintiff’s attorney Taylor Kruse argued during the trial that Morrison was asked to leave before the ride started and that she fell while attempting to step off a moving walkway.
“Justice was served,” Kruse said via email.
