Downtown LA steakhouse Nick + Stef’s celebrates 25 years with steak specials of course

Nick + Stef’s Steakhouse, a trailblazing downtown Los Angeles restaurant that counts business and political leaders as daily regulars, is celebrating a 25-year anniversary this month by doing what it has always done best: serving 28-day dry-aged steak specials and its famous JBS mashed potatoes on select dates.

“I feel proud that it’s been here this long,” said Megan Logan, the executive chef at the Bunker Hill steakhouse, which is known for blending elements of a contemporary steakhouse and modern design with fine dining.

“We have really stayed true to what the brand started as and has always been and we’ve stayed consistent over the years. I think when people are looking for something specific, if they want a steak, a salad and a martini, they know to come here and that it will satisfy that craving. We’ve been consistent and haven’t tried to keep up with trends,” she said, explaining the longevity of the Bunker Hill restaurant.

The specials start from Oct. 14-17 when the restaurant will offer a $25 New York Strip lunch special from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. that includes the  Nick + Stef’s Caesar Salad, a 5-ounce Dry Aged New York Steak and a side of JBS Mashed Potatoes. The mashed potatoes were named after Joachim Splichal, who was the chef and founder of the restaurant. The recipe has remained the same for 25 years, Logan noted.

Then on Oct. 19 it’s the main event with a prix fixe $250 dinner for two that will highlight the restaurant’s all-star offerings like the Nick + Stef’s Caesar Salad and BBQ Shrimp, a selection of Dry Aged Ribeye and New York Steak and sides of JBS mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, plus a shared dessert of liquid chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. This one includes drinks, too, with a choice of restaurant favorites that include the N+S Old Fashioned, N+S Manhattan, or a glass of red wine.

Happy Hour will be even happier during the anniversary celebration from Oct. 14-18 when the restaurant offers extra deals like $2.50 oyster and wine and whiskey specials.

Nick + Stef’s Steakhouse is at 330 S. Hope Street, Los Angeles. For reservations go to patinagroup.com/nick-and-stefs-steakhouse-la.
