Dodgers settle on starting pitchers for NLDS

DENVER — The options disappeared over the past few weeks with Tyler Glasnow, Clayton Kershaw and Gavin Stone eliminated by injuries. So Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed the starting rotation the Dodgers will take into their National League Division Series next week.

Roberts wouldn’t confirm the order but Jack Flaherty, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Walker Buehler and Landon Knack will start for the Dodgers in the best-of-five series. Flaherty will throw to minor-league hitters at Dodger Stadium as preparation. Yamamoto is scheduled to make his final regular-season start on Saturday in Colorado.

Meanwhile, right-hander Tony Gonsolin will stay in Arizona and “stay hot” but he has been ruled out of the picture for the NLDS.

“Unless something really unforeseen happens, I don’t see that happening,” Roberts said.

ALSO

First baseman Freddie Freeman (sprained ankle), infielder Miguel Rojas (adductor strain) and starting pitchers Jack Flaherty and Walker Buehler did not make the trip to Colorado. Freeman and Rojas are both expected to be ready to play when the Dodgers start their NLDS next Saturday (Oct. 5) at Dodger Stadium.
