Disneyland teases return of Paint the Night parade

A fan-favorite nighttime parade with 1.5 million LED lights that debuted a decade ago during Disneyland’s 60th anniversary will be returning for the Anaheim theme park’s 70th anniversary celebration in 2025.

Disneyland teased the return of the Paint the Night parade on the park’s official Instagram account with a paint palette, star-eyed amazement and lightbulb emojis.

“Stay tuned for more,” the official Disneyland account posted in the comments.

The Instagram post on Friday, Oct. 11 featured an 11-second video clip of the glowing 54-foot-long Mack truck float from the “Cars” franchise and a single lyric from the parade’s theme song: “When can we do this again?”

“When Can I See You Again?” by Owl City from the 2012 “Wreck It Ralph” animated film served as the theme song for the Paint the Night parade.

The Paint the Night parade debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2014, played at Disneyland in 2015 for the park’s Diamond Anniversary Celebration and moved to Disney California Adventure in 2018.

The Instagram teaser post did not say when the parade would return to the Disneyland resort or which park would host the encore.

Various versions of the parade have featured floats dedicated to Peter Pan, Monsters Inc., Disney Princesses, Cars, Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Frozen, the Incredibles and Mickey Mouse.
