Disneyland sets dates for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure passholder previews

Disneyland annual passholders will be the first to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure during Magic Key previews of the new attraction taking over the former Splash Mountain log flume ride.

Disneyland Magic Key previews for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be held on select dates from Oct. 21 through Nov. 12 before the new attraction opens to the general public on Nov. 15.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure tells an extension of the “Princess and the Frog” story that picks up after the final kiss between Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. The new backstory for Splash Mountain follows Tiana and Louis the trumpet-playing alligator as they prepare for their first Mardi Gras performance.

Magic Key passholders will need to make a Disneyland reservation and successfully join a virtual queue to take a preview ride on Tiana’s new log flume ride.

Magic Key riders will take home a commemorative souvenir on the attraction preview dates.

Keyholders with a Disneyland reservation will have two chances a day to join the virtual queue — at 7 a.m. before the park opens and again at noon. You’ll need to have already entered Disneyland to join the noon queue for previews later in the day.

Keep in mind when you’re booking your preview date that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a water ride and you will get wet. If you’re like me, you likely won’t want to book a preview date with ride times stretching late into the evening.

Disneyland has transformed Critter County into Bayou Country with the arrival of Princess Tiana and her new ride.

Louis’ Critter Club will take over the half of Pooh Corner closest to the former Splash Mountain log ride while Ray’s Berets will replace the Briar Patch shop. The half of Pooh Corner closest to the Winnie the Pooh attraction will remain as a candy shop.

The Hungry Bear restaurant will become the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree when Bayou Country officially debuts on Nov. 15.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh dark ride, Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes and Pooh Corner candy store returned in August ahead of the rest of rethemed land.

Disneyland raised Magic Key prices on Oct. 9 while sales of the annual passes remained paused. Magic Key sales will restart later this year with a specific date yet to be announced.
