Disneyland cancels ‘Avengers Assemble’ rooftop stunt show

Black Widow, Captain America and Black Panther will no longer battle Taskmaster near the docked Quinjet in Avengers Campus as the rooftop stunt show joins the growing list of canceled entertainment in the Marvel themed land at Disney California Adventure.

The final performance of “Avengers Assemble” will be held on April 5 as the expansion of Avengers Campus begins at Disney California Adventure, according to Disneyland officials.

Disneyland officials do not have any additional information to share at this time on future entertainment offerings for Avengers Campus.

The cast of high-intensity stunt performers who earn $40.48 per hour in “Avengers Assemble” are among the highest paid performers at Disney California Adventure, according to the American Guild of Variety Artists Performers.

The closing of “Avengers Assemble” follows the final performance of “Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” in June, the removal of stunt performers from “The Amazing Spider-Man” show in November and the end of “Story Time with Deadpool Holiday Special” in January.

The “Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje” and “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off” continue to perform in Avengers Campus.

The “stuntronic” robot and a meet-and-greet character still remain in the Spider-Man show without the high-intensity stunt performers.

Iron Man, Thor, Captain Marvel and other superhero meet-and-greet characters continue to make appearances in Avengers Campus.

“Avengers Assemble” has been a mainstay since Avengers Campus debuted in 2021 with holiday versions of the rooftop stunt show featuring Hawkeye battling the Tracksuit Mafia using candy canes and Christmas presents.

The Avengers Campus expansion now underway will add the new Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab attractions to the Marvel super hero themed land.

The latest batch of Marvel superheroes coming to theaters this summer won’t be heading to DCA’s Avengers Campus.
