DAILY NEWS TOP 10

1. Sierra Canyon (2-3 overall, 0-0 Mission League)

The Trailblazers were on a bye last week.

Next: at Chaminade, Friday, 7 p.m.

2. Oaks Christian (3-2 overall, 0-0 Marmonte League)

The Lions were on a bye last week.

Next: vs. Oxnard Pacifica, Friday, 7 p.m.

3. Chaminade (1-4 overall, 0-0 Mission League)

The Eagles were on a bye last week.

Next: vs. Sierra Canyon, Friday, 7 p.m.

4. Newbury Park (5-0 overall, 0-0 Conejo Coast League)

The Panthers stayed unbeaten by beating Ventura 43-14 last week. Brady Smigiel completed 19 of 29 passes for 287 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. Shane Rosenthal caught seven passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Blake Bryce had three sacks, seven tackles and four tackles for loss.

Next: at Santa Barbara, Saturday, 7 p.m.

5. Simi Valley (5-0 overall, 0-0 Marmonte League)

The Pioneers were on a bye last week.

Next: vs. St. Bonaventure, Friday, 7 p.m.

6. Thousand Oaks (3-2 overall, 0-0 Conejo Coast League)

The Lancers were on a bye last week.

Next: vs. Calabasas, Saturday, 7 p.m.

7. Notre Dame (3-2 overall, 0-0 Mission League)

The Knights were on a bye last week.

Next: vs. Bishop Amat, Friday, 7 p.m.

8. Valencia (1-4 overall, 1-0 Foothill League)

The Vikings were on a bye last week.

Next: at Canyon, Friday, 7 p.m.

9. Hart (5-1 overall, 2-0 Foothill League)

Hart beat West Ranch to move to 2-0 in league play behind Jacob Paisano’s 331 passing yards and four touchdowns passes. Zach Rogozik had 157 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight passes. Ryder Frithsmith had nine total tackles and an interception.

Next: vs. Castaic at College of the Canyons, Friday, 7 p.m.

10. Birmingham (0-4 overall, 0-0 West Valley League)

Birmingham finished up a nonleague schedule that consisted entirely of CIF Southern Section teams with a 38-27 loss to Calabasas. It was the lowest score deficit the Patriots had out of all nonleague games.

Next: vs. Chatsworth, Friday, 7 p.m.
