Caleb Hearon, the self-described “beloved gay comedian with perfect opinions,” is taking his podcast on the road.
The host of “So True with Caleb Hearon” will wrap up his nationwide tour at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 12. Tickets for the show, which promises to feature the “podcast crew, a special guest, an unforgettable night of laughter, surprises and maybe some spirited debate and romance,” go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, at livenation.com.
Hearon’s podcast typically features interviews with celebrities and friends such as country-pop star and drag queen Trixie Mattel, where they discuss their most embarrassing moments, hot takes, and other aspects of their everyday lives. Listeners also get insight into his life growing up in northern rural Missouri, and his comedic storytelling and anecdotes of self-acceptance are frequently praised. “It’s radical that I don’t dislike myself as a fat person in a society that hates fat people,” he told Rolling Stone last year. “It’s really f— cool that I like myself, and I worked really hard on it. So I want fat people — and especially, like, little fat gay kids in red states — to watch my stuff and go, ‘Oh, actually, a cool life is possible for me.’ That’s all.”

He gained broader prominence in 2019 for his comedically blunt Twitter videos and began using other social media accounts to showcase his jokes after auditioning for “Saturday Night Live.” Although he’s active on social media and uses the platforms to make comedy, he told Rolling Stone in November that online comedy was always a means to an end for him. He’s since moved on to other ventures, including joining the writer’s room in 2020 for “Human Resources,” a Netflix spinoff of Nick Kroll’s animated series, “Big Mouth.”
His acting credits include “Jurassic World Dominion,” the FX series “Fargo,” Ally Pankiw’s feature directorial debut “I Used To Be Funny,” and the teen rom-com “Sweethearts” featuring Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga. Hearon is currently set in the lead role of “Trash Mountain,” a film that deals with his father’s death and other life experiences. The film is set to be directed by Lily Wachowski and marks the second project he’s starred in with her directing at the helm, including the showtime series, “Work in Progress.”
