An Encino estate owned by comedian Carlos Mencia is on the market for $6.75 million.
The two-story, 9,089-square-foot residence sits on a nearly half-acre lot with a pool and spa. Completed in 1992, it features eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
Public records show Mencia and his wife, Amy, bought the property for $4.3 million in January 2008 through a living trust for which they serve as trustees.
Financial troubles followed. Records viewed at PropertyShark show lenders repeatedly initiated foreclosure proceedings, recording notices of default and trustee sales before canceling those actions and later filing additional defaults since 2021. The California Post reported that Mencia recently went to court and received permission to sell the home as part of efforts to address more than $300,000 in state tax debt.

Despite Mencia’s financial troubles, the estate retains the features that define its contemporary Mediterranean-style design.
