Burglars hit Encino home while babysitter is upstairs with two young children

A home in Encino was burglarized early Thursday morning while a babysitter was inside with two children, but no one was hurt.

Officers were sent to the 4900 block of Edgerton Avenue about 12:10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The location is north of Moorpark Street and south of Libbet Park.

The suspects entered by breaking a glass door and fled with unknown items, police said. No injuries were reported, and no suspect description was available, police said.

According to Fox 11, the babysitter was upstairs with two children, ages 2 and 4, and heard the sounds of breaking glass and burglars downstairs. She then locked herself and the children in a room and called 911.
