Brush fire burns 5 acres in Valley’s Sepulveda Basin, a frequent location for blazes

Los Angeles firefighters were able to contain a brush fire to about 5 acres Wednesday in the Sepulveda Basin, an area where such fires seem to be a regular occurrence.

Wednesday’s fire near the 15700 block of Burbank Boulevard was contained after firefighters using a bulldozer and hand tools cut a perimeter around it.

LAFD crews worked in temperatures that soared into the 90s.
