Baby struck by vehicle in Exposition Park is in critical condition

A baby is in critical condition after it was struck by a vehicle in the Exposition Park area Los Angeles, and one person was taken into custody as police are investigating the circumstance surrounding the collision.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division responded at 11:58 p.m. Monday to West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Halldale Avenue regarding a collision with an infant, an LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes told City News Service.

The baby was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the baby remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

One person was taken into custody at the scene, but it was not immediately known if the arrest was related to the collision, Terzes said.
