At least 6 cars destroyed in Sherman Oaks carport fire early Thanksgiving morning

Firefighters battled a blaze at a garden-style apartment building in Sherman Oaks that destroyed or heavily damaged at least six cars inside a carport early Thanksgiving morning.

Crews responded at 4:20 a.m. to 12940 W Burbank Blvd., west of Coldwater Canyon, where the carport is attached to the rear of a two-story structure, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

A video shot by freelance news videographer OnScene.TV showed at least six cars in ruins following the fire.

It took 45 firefighters 43 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
