A new voice to fight for California’s Hispanic community

For too long, the political establishment in Sacramento has dictated what it means to be a Hispanic voter, leader, and policymaker in California. They have boxed our community into outdated stereotypes, ignoring the rich diversity, ambition, and innovation that define Hispanic Californians today.

But we are here to change that.

We—the founding members of the California Legislative Hispanic Caucus—have come together with a mission that is both simple and urgent: to champion economic prosperity, empowerment, and opportunity for Hispanic Californians. We are here to give a voice to the millions of Latinos across this state who want safer communities, better jobs, and a government that serves them—not hinders them.

For years, Sacramento politicians have imposed a one-size-fits-all approach to Hispanic representation, failing to listen to the real needs of our community. They assume Latinos fit into a narrow ideological box. But the truth is clear: Hispanic Californians overwhelmingly want lower costs of living, affordable housing, good-paying jobs, and safe neighborhoods where families can thrive.

Yet, too often, Sacramento pushes policies that do the opposite—driving up the cost of energy, housing, and everyday necessities while making it harder for businesses to grow and create jobs. These policies do not reflect the values and aspirations of Hispanic families, entrepreneurs, and workers who are striving for a better future.

We reject the outdated notion that Hispanics are confined to specific roles in our economy. While we deeply honor the hardworking men and women in agriculture and service industries, we also celebrate the Latino tech engineers driving innovation in Silicon Valley, the construction workers building our cities, the first responders protecting our neighborhoods, the nurses and doctors saving lives, and the entrepreneurs creating jobs. We are a community of resilience, determination, and excellence, and it’s time our leaders recognize and support that.

The California Legislative Hispanic Caucus is committed to delivering real solutions in three critical areas: economic opportunity, public safety, and affordability.

Hispanic entrepreneurs are the fastest-growing business owners in California, yet many struggle under excessive regulations and taxes. We are committed to creating an environment where Hispanic-owned businesses can thrive by reducing unnecessary red tape and ensuring that government policies support—not stifle—job creation. We will fight to lower tax burdens and expand access to capital so that our businesses can flourish and fuel California’s economy.

California’s affordability crisis is crushing working families. We are fighting to expand energy production—including oil, natural gas, and renewables—to lower costs for households. We support cutting unnecessary regulations that drive up housing prices so that more families can achieve the dream of homeownership. We believe that every hardworking Californian deserves the chance to build a future in the state they call home.

No family should live in fear of rising crime. We reject policies that weaken law enforcement and put criminals back on the streets. We believe in strong public safety measures that protect families, businesses, and the most vulnerable members of our community. A fair and just system should ensure that all law-abiding Californians—regardless of their background—feel safe in their neighborhoods.

While this caucus was founded by Republican Hispanic legislators, we invite any state lawmaker—regardless of party—who shares our commitment to economic prosperity, affordability, and public safety to join us. This is about real solutions, not partisan rhetoric.

And this is not just about words—it’s about action. In the coming months, we will introduce legislative initiatives focused on lowering costs, expanding job opportunities, and making our communities safer. We will engage directly with Hispanic small business owners, community leaders, and working families to ensure their voices are heard in Sacramento.

Hispanics in California deserve leaders who fight for them. Leaders who understand their challenges, respect their ambitions, and deliver real results.

We believe in the California Dream—a dream that should be within reach for every family, not just a privileged few. We believe in a state where parents can afford to raise their children, businesses can expand and prosper, and communities can feel safe and secure.

To every Hispanic Californian who has ever felt unheard or overlooked: You have a voice. You have power. And together, we can build a future that reflects our values, our dreams, and our incredible potential.

It’s time for new leadership, new ideas, and a new voice for California’s Hispanic community. We invite you to stand with us and be part of this movement for change. The future is ours to shape—let’s make it one we can all be proud of.
