8 acts coming to Southern California casinos this December

Just like that, the year is coming to a close, and if you have yet to catch a show at one of Southern California’s casinos, you’re in luck. Guests can catch classic heavy metal acts, stand-up comedy and a couple of holiday performances.

John Legend

John Legend is kicking off a holiday tour featuring a play-through of his 2018 album, “A Legendary Christmas.” The show will include storytelling and a four-piece band performing holiday classics like those in his Christmas album. 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Yaamava Resort & Casino, 777 San Manuel Blvd., Highland. Catch a night of heavy metal trailblazers with Steph Percy of RATT and Quiet Riot. Kenny G

Saxophonist Kenny G is out on his Miracles Holiday and Hits Tour, which includes hits from his Christmas record “Miracles,” featuring the song “Going Home,” which has become the official end-of-work-day anthem for the people of China. The musician has made a name for himself in jazz, selling millions of albums worldwide. Jeremy Piven

Jeremy Piven got his first big break starring in the HBO series, “Entourage,” for his portrayal of acerbic Hollywood agent Ari Gold, which earned him two Golden Globes and three Emmy Awards. Bell Biv DeVoe and Rev Run of RUN DMC

Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe were previously part of the group New Edition, but after being on hiatus, they decided to form their group, Bell Biv DeVoe. The group’s debut album, “Poison,” helped usher in the new jack-swing movement of the ’90s, which combined elements of traditional soul and R&B with hip-hop. Bianca Del Rio

The New York Times dubbed Bianca Del Rio “The Joan Rivers of the Drag World” for her larger-than-life outrageous comedy and drag presence. Another iconic ’90s group coming to a casino in Southern California is En Vogue, driven by the harmonizing voices of Cindy Herron, Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones. The group has since had some line-up changes, with Herron and Ellis standing by new member Rhona Bennett.
