A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck north of Malibu Thursday morning, Sept. 12, sending tremors through most of Los Angeles County.
The quake struck at 7:28 a.m. more than 4 miles north of the coastal city at a depth of about 11.6 kilometers, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake felt like a jolt in Pomona, a good shake in Pasadena, and a jiggle in Riverside. It was felt even in San Diego.
A 2.8-magnitude aftershock, at a depth of 15 kilometers, was reported two minutes later, according to the USGS.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
