A few homes along a residential block in Castaic were evacuated on Sunday, June 30, after a brush fire grew to more than 20 acres in the early afternoon.
The blaze broke out around 12:40 p.m. near Capri Court and Barcelona Road, near Castaic Middle School, burning about an acre, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. By about 1:45. the fire had grown to 22 acres.
Four homes along Capri were evacuated around 1:30 p.m., authorities said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damaged structures. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
