Two Los Angeles firefighters went to a hospital in critical condition and several others were injured after a truck with pressurized cylinders exploded in Wilmington on Thursday, Feb. 15, authorities said.
Firefighters responded just before 7 a.m. to the semi-tractor trailer truck, on fire, at 1120 N. Alameda St., near Henry Ford Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
At least three firefighters have been sent to a hospital and several others were being evaluated at the scene.

It was believed others firefighters were waiting for ambulances to arrive, Prange said.
The explosion occurred 12 minutes after firefighters were dispatched, and six minutes after the first firefighters arrived, Prange said.
It wasn’t immediately known how many firefighters were there.
Hazmat specialists were responding to the scene, Prange said.
The cause of the fire and subsequent explosion were unclear.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area.
