2 hurt, 5 arrested in fight near Santa Monica Pier

SANTA MONICA — A fight involving about 20 men near the Santa Monica Pier Saturday afternoon left one man with an apparent stab wound, one man with a possibly broken ankle and five men in custody.

The “altercation” occurred just before 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Santa Monica police Officer D. Hodgson told City News Service.

“I can confirm one victim had an injury consistent with a stab wound,” Hodgson said. The two injured men had been involved in the fight and were not bystanders.

The five men in custody were awaiting booking while an investigation continued at an active crime scene, he said.
