With Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Trent Grisham all set to start most games in the New York Yankees outfield, that leaves Jasson Dominguez’s role with the team at a standstill. The recent report by Aaron Boone that Dominguez might start the season in Triple-A doesn’t help “The Martian’s” trade case.
Dominguez is going to continue being the subject of trade rumors until he either breaks out or the Yankees come out publicly and flat out say we are not trading him. However, since neither of those things has happened, the speculation shall continue. In a recent trade idea piece by FanSided, Jasson Dominguez is featured in a trade package with the Reds that includes starter Brady Singer.

Yankees Trade Pitch Lands Brady Singer for Jasson Dominguez
Brady Singer is on the last year of arbitration before he hits free agency, which might give reason for the Cincinnati Reds to trade him before he hits the open market.
FanSided’s Christopher Kline recently put together a handful of trade packages for Dominguez, and one interesting one he proposed was sending Jasson to the Reds in exchange for Brady Singer and Tyler Callihan:
GettyJason DomÃnguez on May 17th, 2025, against the New York Mets
“Cincinnati has a wealth of pitching depth, which could mean Brady Singer is expendable in the final year of his contract. The numbers weren’t spectacular in 2025 â 4.03 ERA and 1.24 WHIP â but he made 32 starts and logged 169.2 innings. He’s durable, with 150-plus innings in four straight seasons, which is an attribute this Yankees staff lacks far too much right now.”
For the Reds, it’s a good chance to add another potential star hitter to their organization. The Yankees understand they will be dealing with players like Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon sidelined to start the season, so adding a veteran, proven arm like Brady Singer makes sense.

Will Jasson Dominguez Be Traded?
The rumors of Jasson Dominguez being traded haven’t really strengthened over the past month or so, but the speculation stems from the report that Dominguez has no clear path to playing time with this current Yankees team.
There’s certainly the possibility that he fills in if one of New York’s outfielder go down with injury, but if that’s the case, Dominguez will have to produce in his role, or he’s likely to be shipped out of town.
Dominguez has 468 career at-bats over his three-year MLB tenure, and has a .248 average with 16 home runs and a lifetime OPS+ of 103. Still just 23 years old, Dominguez hasn’t even reached 1,000 at-bats in the big leagues, which is usually the benchmark where players are officially evaluated for how well they can hit.
