Woman shot, critically wounded during North Lawndale quarrel

A woman was shot and critically wounded early Wednesday by someone she knows after the two argued in North Lawndale on the West Side.

The two women began arguing around 12:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of South Tripp Avenue when one of them, 26, shot her in the chest, Chicago police said.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The 26-year-old woman fled and has not been arrested.

Area 4 detectives are investigating.
