Woman killed in Gurnee hit-and-run

Police in north suburban Gurnee are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit a woman, killing her, before fleeing Wednesday night.

Paramedics responded to the 2100 block of North Delany Road around 8:05 p.m. and found an approximately 30-year-old woman who suffered “significant trauma throughout her body” and was dead at the scene, Gurnee Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Gramer said.

A vehicle struck the woman and left the scene, officials said.

Gurnee police were on the scene of the crash Wednesday night but haven’t released further details.
