Arapahoe County investigators are searching for a suspect after a woman was found dead in a remote area east of the Denver metro on Thursday, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check at 8 a.m. and found the woman’s body in unincorporated Arapahoe County, sheriff’s officials said in a post on X. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
The sheriff’s office is not releasing the exact location where the woman was found because investigators are still looking for a suspect, spokesperson Ginger Delgado said.
The woman’s name, cause and manner of death will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office. Sheriff’s officials described her as a Black woman in her 20s.
