Woman dies in Roseland fire

A woman died in a townhouse fire Sunday afternoon in Roseland on the Far South Side.

Around 12:30 p.m., fire officials responded to the 9300 block of South King Drive for a fire in a two-story townhouse, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

A 66-year-old woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center initially in “grave” condition, and was pronounced dead there at 1:13 p.m., officials said.

Her name was not released and the cause of the fire hasn’t yet been determined.
