Woman dead after fatal crash in Alamo

California Highway Patrol officers responded to a call on Wednesday morning of a woman who was fatally hit by a car while biking, according to a department press release.

Woman dies days after car hits her in San Jose

Around 11:12 a.m., CHP authorities received a call of a collision involving a bicyclist and a car on Livorna Road under the Interstate 680 overpass. A woman on a bicycle was traveling westbound on Livorna Road. A man in a black Toyota bZ3X was parked on the right shoulder of the road. When he drove into the roadway, he crashed into the approaching bicyclist.

CHP and additional emergency services came to the scene to assist, but the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man driving the Toyota was uninjured.

A Contra Costa County CHP spokesman said the cause of the crash is still under investigation and no arrests were made.

The identity of the victim has yet to be released by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Division pending identity verification and notification of next of kin.
