SPAIN: Rossmoor/Walnut Creek residents Bill Oman and his husband Larry Crummer visited Spain and France recently on a Windstar Cruise with their friends, Marsha and Richard Molling of Concord.

Among the benefits of that small cruise line, says Bill, is that the ships can navigate rivers. Their cruise included stops in Seville, Spain and Bordeaux, France, as well as coastal destinations such as Barcelona, where they visited the famous Sagrada Familia, the cathedral designed by Antoni Gaudí and expected to be completed in 2026.

TRAVEL TIPS: “We recommend booking timed entry for the cathedral, as well as the separate ticket needed to go up by elevator inside one of the spires, with a tour company  well in advance,” Bill says. “We skipped the lines on our private tour.”
